  1. 9/11 and Pearl Harbor were both extremely similar events, but have their differences. For one, the 9/11 terrorist attack and the Pearl Harbor attack both killed innocent American lives as well as damaging US defense. I think the reason that Pearl Harbor and 9/11 were so similar, is because that event was what really brought the US into the war of the time period. A distinct difference between these two attacks, is that 9/11 was done by terrorist groups and Pearl Harbor was committed by a whole country. I don't think we will know how similar these events truly are until the current war has ended

  2. 9/11 was in fact similar to pearl harbor in the sense it was a foreign attack on the united states. also, the attacks both resulted in American unity. When Japan made their surprise attack on Pearl Harbor, Americans conjured up their hatred and anger into fighting them. A discrimination was formed then against Japanese- Americans. This is similar to the stereo typical discrimination against Muslims. After the unfortunate hijacks and attacks on 9/11 on the pentagon and the world trade center, a hatred was formed against all muslims. After 9/11 American patriotism became abundant and popular. Pride for America was displayed heavily through popular song, flags, and over all attitudes of the American citizens.

  3. Yes I believe 9/11 is similar to Pearl Harbor because they were both a profound shock to the American people. In addition, a warning had been sent from Washington to the Americans on Pearl Harbor but it arrived too late and many were injured or killed. Also the Americans in Pearl Harbor fought back vigorously, but the Americans in 9/11 could do nothing once this tragedy occured. During 9/11, a series of cordinated attacks intentionally crashed everyone in the tower along with victims in the plane. Furthermore, both of these situations were unexpected and surprising.

  4. I think that 9/11 and Pearl Harbor are very similar, as they were both unexpected attacks against the United States. In both cases, many people were killed and there was much damage, and it took a long time to recover from both of these events.

  6. I think that 9/11 and Pearl Harbor are somewhat different and somewhat similar. 9/11 was done by terrorist group while the bombing of Pearl Harbor was done by a whole country.
These two events killed many innocent Americans. Both are unexpected and surpising.

  8. I think that 9/11 and Pearl Harbor are somewhat similar, but they have their differences. Both events were unexpected, but 9/11 was done by a terrorist group and was not declaring war. Pearl Harbor was attacked by a whole country, and it was declaring war on the US. Both events are very devastating and tragic.

  9. I disagree because Japan had a valid reason to bomb us because they wanted to control the pacific while in 9/11 the terrorists had no reason other that that they didn't like us. But they were both similar in the sense that both of them brought us into a war that we did not want to go into

  10. I do not believe that 9/11 was similar to the events at Pearl Harbor because Pearl Harbor consisted of persistent but small attacks on the area while 9/11 was two major attacks on the twin towers. Also, Japan had a rational reason to attack because they wanted control of the pacific but the terrorists had no valid reason.

  11. I agree and disagree with the events of 9/11 and Pearl Harbor. I agree because Pearl Harbor and 9/11 were both unexpected attacks and both were upon very valuable places in the U.S. I disagree though because 9/11 was done by terrorists as an act of "sacrifice", while Pearl Harbor was done to tell the U.S. to fight as well as force the U.S. to fight.

  12. I would agree with the fact that pearl harbor and 9/11 would be similar considering they were both surprise attacks on the United States. The difference between these events is the reasons. The reason Japan attacked pearl harbor was to gain control in southern asia without US resistence. The reason for 9/11 was hate against the US. Though they were both similar events they were completely different.

  13. I believe that Pearl Harbor and 9/11 have their similarities but they also have their differences. The bombing of Pearl Harbor was done by the whole country where 9/11 was done by terrorists. They both brought the U.S. to war as much as they didn't want to be apart of it. Also they were both very unexpected and killed many innocent Americans.

  14. i agree that 9/11 and Pearl Harbor are very similar events in U.S. history. On both occations we were attacked by another strong force in the world. These events were also a great shock to America and they whole world. Even though the attacks had different motives they still were attacks on America.

  15. I agree that they were similar, biut there are some parts that set the two apart. For one, they were both surprises attacks on the US that sprung a national feeling of patriotism. Secondly, they were bot hugely destructive and harmful to the areas it happened in. But, what sets them apart is that Pearl harbor was a whole country plotting this attack and 9/11 was a small terrorist group.

  16. I think that they are similar if you just generalize them as attacks. However, I wouldn't say that the Japanese were terrorists, considering they were actually in Japan's military air forces. 9/11 was just kind of a cheap shot by terrorist unofficials. Other than that though, I'd say they are similar attacks.

  17. i think that 9/11 and pearl harbor were similar because they were both surprise attacks on the united states. in both cases many innocent people were harmed or killed and the areas that were attacked were destroyed

  18. In a way i think its similar. Because both of these attacks on the US came out of nowhere and it led to destroying everything.but pearl harbor was much bigger than 9/11, because it dealt with it being a japanese army attacking. when 9/11 was just a small terrorist group

  19. I think 911 and Pearl Harbor were similar but I wouldn't exactly compare. 911 was performed by a small group of Muslim extremist while, Pearl Harbor was done by an entire country of Japan. But the US response to Pearl Harbor was far more severe than 911

  20. I believe they were a bit different. First off, Pearl Harbor was an attack approved by a government while 9/11 was by a terrorist organization. Also, Pearl Harbor was a well thought out attack on a military base that was potentially dangerous to the Japanese, while 9/11 was mostly aimed at buildings and civilians for no good reason

  21. 9/11 and the attack at Pearl Harbor are similar, but they are also different. 9/11 was a terrorist attack, and Pearl Harbor was just an attack to bring the U.S. into the war. Pearl Harbor was mostly just the military bases when the other attack killed a lot of different people.

  22. 9\11 and Pearl Harbor are similar and different from each other. They are both suprise attacks on the U.S. that took place on U.S. soil and many people were killed. Yet they are also different because 9/11 was a terrorist attack and Pearl Harbor was an attack by Japan which brought us into the war.

  23. 9/11 and Pearl Harbor were similar and different in their respective ways. Both were planned attacks on the U.S. for reasons that the U.S. caused. The differences were 9/11 was not an act of war but rather of terrorism because it was by a terrorist group rather than the army like during Pearl Harbor. Also Japan was trying to take control over the Pacific while the terrorists of 9/11 were trying to retaliate for the Americans fighting in their lands.

  24. Pearl Harbor and 9/11 were similar because they both were preemptive strikes on america by an entity planning on the deaths of american lives. they are different because one was mindless destruction and the other was for a reason(pearl harbor was the one with the reason-to make the U.S. keep giving them materials)

  25. I disagree, I think pearl harbor was very different form 9/11. 9/11 was caused by terrorists who think the death of everyone who does not believe the same as them is essential. So that is why 9/11 occurred. On the other hand Pearl Harbor took place because one country wanted power. Not a couple of crazy people who believe very radical things.

  26. I agree both Pearl Harbor and 9/11 were similar. They were both large destructions and different groups against eachother. Both events had to to with having the most strength and power. Even thoough the pearl harbor was a larger destruction they both were very barbaric events.

  27. 9/11 and Pearl Harbor is similiar because it resulted in the loss of many U.S citizens. it is also similiar because it was unexpected. also, it created a mass destruction in the land.

  28. 9/11 was done in hate of america. pearl harbor was done out of desperation.

  29. i do agree that 9/11 snd pearl harbor are very similar. they were both attacks that killed many innocent americans. Also both events brought us full force into the wasr that was taking place during the particualr time period. also they both created mass destruction and were very unexpected.
